This publication is a review of the interesting and remarkable author's big project “History of the Country in the History of My Family” which includes the creation of an electronic collection “The Great Patriotic War in the History of My Village” and also the organization and conducting of the best story competition on this topic. Competitions for readers are an active and effective means of promoting reading. The creation of the electronic collection “The Great Patriotic War in the History of My Village” was the first idea in that anniversary project. Schoolchildren and the members of the village Belozeri library took part in it. They were helping librarians to create the new modern collection devoted to the memory of their ancestors participants of the Great Patriotic war 1941-1945. Schoolchildren were collecting for 2 years various war stories and memories from veterans about wartime, old photos, articles, letters, and documents about battles at the front and about the life in the rear. Authors of that e-collection paid much attention to interviews with veterans who were 7-10 years old during that period. All of these rare materials and modern films, books, newspapers, articles and historical research by scholars and schoolchildren (including scanned copies and e-documents) went into the e-collection. It represents a valuable source of ‘oral history’ about the heroic past of our Troizk region, our Motherland and encourages consideration and sincere well-earned respect for our veterans. A few interviews in this article are obvious illustrations from our very interesting e-collection "The Great Patriotic War in the History of My Village". The organization and completion of the best story competition “The Great Patriotic War in the History of My Family” was our second idea and an international project which united peoples, united schoolchildren, students and their teachers from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belorussia and other states. Each participant had to talk about an ancestor and his role in the Great Victory on the 9th of May 1945. We have more than one hundred very wonderful, interesting essays and some of them we read with tears in eyes. Two essays we included in this article are obvious illustrations of our best story competition “The Great Patriotic War in the History of My Family”. Schoolgirls at school № 16 from town Uralsk (Republic of Kazakhstan) had written them. In our opinion, historians can also regard these essays as a valuable source of ‘oral history’ about the heroic past of our great country. In conclusion, we express a hope for the success of our current and future wonderful projects and for future close creative co-operation with our esteemed colleagues. And I express my deep gratitude Alexander Kuznetsov, Anna Mikhailova and Feodor Pereligin for their help in my projects.

THE BEST STORY COMPETITION AS A MEANS TO ACTIVELY PROMOTE READING

Настоящая публикация знакомит с тезисами авторского большого проекта «История страны в истории моей семьи», основные идеи, этапы, результаты реализации которого отражены в работах Ю. В. Гушул [2-8]. Проект включал создание электронной коллекции «Великая Отечественная война в истории моего села» (при участии библиотекарей и школьников с. Белозёры Троицкого района Челябинской области), а также организацию и проведение международного конкурса лучших эссе «Великая Отечественная война в истории моей семьи». Данный конкурс объединил школьников, студентов и их педагогов из России, Казахстана, Узбекистана, Белоруссии и других стран (более ста рассказов на английском языке).

Abstracts. Competitions for readers are an active and effective means of promoting reading.

Initially the competition will encourage active readers to enter. Librarians can offer participants a reading list about a certain topic, which they can read, form their own opinions and then answer questions about the reading material.

Librarians are able to create various interesting databases to showcase the results of the competition, highlighting the best stories, essays, memories and interviews. These databases can form the basis for further research, as well as maintain become a valuable source of 'oral history' about the heroic past of the village, city, region and country.

The participants will learn to create articles, books, book synopses, films, comics etc. which they can share with others.

We actively work with our readers and students in many such areas, all of which is described in our various articles [2-8] and reports from Russian and international conferences.

For example, during the last conference in Bukhara (Uzbekistan, 20th of May, 2017) in the report "Acmeological environment of forming the professional competences of librarian" [6] we revealed the role of an innovative multi-subjects laboratory of literature and bibliography in the formation of the acmeology culture of our readers. Special attention is focused on applied acmeological pedagogical technologies for the effective learning by students of the study material. This conclusion is based extencive experience of work in our interesting and remarkable project "History of the Country in the History of My Family" which includes (among other) the creation of the electronic collection "The Great Patriotic War in the History of My Village" and also the organization and holding of the best story competition "The Great Patriotic War in the History of My Family".

The e-collection "The Great Patriotic War in the History of My Village" [1] was created especially for the small library of the Belozeri village in the Troizk district Chelyabisk region of Russia.

Schoolchildren took part in the work. They found labour veterans in their village - people who were small children during 1941-1945 years and were working all throughout the war years. These small children, aged between 7 to 12 years, couldn't be at war, they were only helping to provide heroic labour in munitions factories, collective farms, working in the wheat and potato fields. During those, 7 years they had already ploughed land with cows and often with friends or older (8-10 years) brothers and sisters. They mowed, sowed, grew harvests, reared livestock for the front and they become a Heroes of Labour during wartime. They helped their parents to win a victory in the Great Patriotic war by doing all of this work. Small children demonstrated miracles of heroism. And now our schoolchildren have collected a larger and exclusive set of material -memories, old letters, photos, historic items. We gave reports about it at different times in the last three years at various conferences in Moscow (2016, 2017), Yekaterinburg (2016), Chelyabinsk (2015-2017), Bryansk (2016), Kursk (2015), Omsk (2016), Krasnoyarsk (2017) and other cities and wrote about our work [2-8].

In our articles, we reported how our schoolchildren took part in interviews. Texts were presented in our e-collection and retain the style of the speech of elderly people which creates a special flavor of epoch to which they belong.

from an interview by Vladimir Agulov (was born on the 26th of February 1938 year):

"...My father was an ordinary soldier, who

disappeared in April 1942......my brother Alex

was studying in the school, I was only 3 years old. We were eating rotten past-year potatoes, orach, also we were collecting woody nightshade as food. We were planting potato peelings, beets and cucumbers if there was an opportunity. ...in the summer I was helping out during haymaking time... and in the winter I used bulls to drag cargo-sleds.... All hay was frozen in stacks in the fields and we guarded, stripped, pulled and picked it our small hands..."

from an interview by Praskovia Belousova (was born on the 8th of November 1936 year)

"...We didn't get letters from our father during the war. Later we found out that the train in which he went to the front was bombed... My mother milked sheep and sometimes she got a slice of cheese (the size of a cake of soap) as a payment for her work. My mother was ill and died two years after my father had gone to the war... My mother had died in January. I have nothing to put on - neither winter shoes nor winter warm clothing - and people brought my sister's coat to me and I went to the cemetery insomebody else's things... We lived at home alone after mother's death... My older sisters went to work to cut and chop firewood or to build a road, but I and my two younger brothers were left alone at home. There was nothing to eat, there was nothing to heat the house, the potatoes were frozen, and we were sitting on a window-sill and crying. ...Then my older brother Nicolai had to go to study in another town but he felt sorry for us very much and that's why he ran away from the college to help us, but they found him and took into custody for a period of two years. ...We were running around the garden and gathered frozen potatoes and digged up frozen apples. In the spring we ate tops of beets and carrots. ...Then our house was taken away to the collective farm in order to store grain. ...We lived very poorly but there were people who lived even worse than us. They came and asked us for something to eat. ...My grandmother shared quark whey with them, despite us having so little ourselves..."

From an interview by Lyubov Kuznetsova (was born on the 21st of January 1934 year):

"...There were a mother, grandmother and two children - 7 years and 4 years old. We had a small house and a small garden... All the adults worked in three shifts every day. All products were by allocated by cards. My mother received six hundred grammes of bread, my grandmother -250 grammes, and my brother and I - 400 grammes. Bread was only rye bread because people,

didn't sow wheat in our region but only rye. My mother and grandmother were dividing the bread into four parts and they tried to give us more and were gathering every crumb. They cooked soup from a nettles and it always seemed so tasty! ...We were going along the potato fields in autumn and spring, collecting any remaining potatoes, then washed them, cooked starch and baked stinking black griddle cakes.

I want our children and grandchildren to live in peace without war, they shouldn't have to know in their life even a small part that we and our parents have experienced..."

These and others interviews in full are included in our great e-collection "The Great Patriotic War in the History of My Village". There are 4 large Chapters in it: 1) About Belozeri village; 2) Veterans of the Great Patriotic war in the documents and memories their issues; 3) Memories of the "Children" of War; 4) Modern researches devoted to the Great Patriotic war and Heroes from the Belozeri village. Each of these four Chapter includes scanned historical documents, photos and medals of our Heroes, scanned images of their war letters, fragments of war diaries etc. The main part in our e-collection is the documented memories of real people who survived the war, which our schoolchildren have already collected according to my project "oral history" and continue to collect up to now. We already have 37 local archive files of memories and more than one hundred other archive files with information about war, including: documents, photos, films, articles etc.

I would like to thank for their help in preparing this e-collection the Head of Department of Informatics of Chelyabinsk State Institute of Culture and Arts Alexander Kuznetsov and the teacher Anna Mikhailova. And I express my deep gratitude to Feodor Pereligin, who was the main programmer of our wonderful e-collection.

Because of our experience of the application of new formats of reading and text analysis we have also written an article for the Moscow conference "Reading and information literacy

in education and culture" (Moscow, 6-8th of April, 2017).

My second local activity in the big project "History of the Country in the History of My Family", as I said before, is the best story competition "The Great Patriotic War in the History of My Family" (begins in 2015 year). The name of the project emphasises the link between the veterans, our parents, participants of the Great Patriotic war, and young people whose conscious life goes on in the third millennium and who must keep up memory, traditions and customs and promote peace and love on the Earth. It was an international competition where more than one hundred schoolchildren and students took part from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belorussia and others states. The main goal of the best story competition was to preserve the life experience of Veterans of the Great Patriotic war, to crystallize this experience in the public consciousness and to provide conditions for the spiritual development of young people and their reading activity. Our task was to find such forms of support for reading that would enable them to be self-reliant and creative and, to show one's worth. They had to show an interest in the history of veterans in their family, village, town, had to meet with them in an unofficial atmosphere and then write down the experiences narrated by seniors. I think this is a small but significant indication of the significance of veterans lives.

For example, following interviews by the secondary school № 16 in the town of Uralsk (Republic of Kazakhstan) stories / essays were collected in the framework of the project "The Great Patriotic War in the History of My Family".

Karenskikh Yana, a schoolgirl from the senior form (her teacher - Serebryakova Yelena Borisovna) wrote: "Among the exhibits of the regional history Museum are military awards and other documents and belongings of a soldier, a resident of the village of Pokatilovka of Terektinsky district in the West Kazakhstan region - Vasily Semenovich Babakov, who was a

participant in the Stalingrad battle. He was my great grandfather. Our family to this day cherishes not only the memory of him, but his military awards, documents, front-line photographs and memories of the war. ...Vasily Babakov was called on 23 June 1941 to the front in the Balashov avtobatalion. And in the midst of the battle of Stalingrad in the composition of the 1177 fighter antitank battalion of 76 mm guns Vasily fully experienced all the difficulties and hardships of an epic battle. The battalion was tasked to provide ground troops at Stalingrad and the driver V. S. Babakov provided the battalion with ammunition. Many times he had to risk life under artillery fire and raids by fascist aircraft to deliver ordnance to the artillery battalion during the period of the battle of Stalingrad. He always remembered his native village and that house where his lovely wife and two adorable little girls Valentine and Raisa were waiting for him. ...For courage and heroism shown during the period of the battle of Stalingrad guard Sergeant V. S. Babakov was awarded medals "For courage", "For military merit" and "For defense of Stalingrad". Our family was able to find premium materials in the archives of the Ministry of defense of the USSR. In this premium material, a description of the feat: "Despite the continuous bombardment and shelling of the crossing, he provided it with the ammunition necessary to destroy the weapon emplacements of the opponent". . ..Vasily Babakov participated in the liberation of Poland and was, awarded the medal "For the liberation of Warsaw". He participated in the storming of Berlin and celebrated Victory Day at the walls of the defeated Reichstag. On the walls of the Reichstag guard Sergeant Vasily Babakov inscribed "I am alive. I'm going home". And he left his autograph. For participating in the assault and capture of Berlin he was awarded the medal "For the capture of Berlin". My great-grandfather, a hero, was presented with the order "Red Star". This is what is written in the premium list: "HS. Sergeant V. Babakov, working as a chauffeur in the bunker division,

proved to be a disciplined, driver. While the brigade had no accidents and breakdowns the car was always kept in perfect order".

...My relatives and countrymen of the soldier describe him as strong-willed and honest person. All his life he remained an example of integrity and hard work. This veteran was a true patriot of his country and of the village where he was born and raised. His workers remember that my great-grandfather, Vasily Babakov was a strict but fair and caring person. He always struggled with theft and would not tolerate negligence and drunkenness.

We are a generation of citizens who have not seen the horrors of war and we bow to the courage and heroism of every soldier. They withstood a severe test of bravery and courage, honor and compassion that makes us human. Nowadays such loyalty to high ideals deserves our most sincere respect. It is our duty not only to honor and to remember, but also to continue the work of our grandfathers and great grandfathers in civilian life. And most important is that each of us modern descendants, understand a simple truth, bequeathed to us by front - line soldiers to be loyal and useful to the Fatherland and to do this not for fame and fortune, but for a peaceful and serene future. Every year the ranks of veterans, the generation of the best, real people, gets less and less. And let such creative works will remain in the hearts and gratitude of future generations for the World! I'm proud of my great-grandfather!".

And the second essay by Kristina Chistyakova, a schoolgirl from the senior form (the teacher - G. A. Dussengalieva):

"In accordance with the decision of the CPC Central Committee and the CPC of the Kazakh Soviet on July 17 adopted a resolution "On the formation of national military units in the Kazakh SSR". In the territory of Kazakhstan more than 20 infantry divisions were formed, -5 national connections out of a total population of 20 311 people, representing about 50 regiments and separate battalions of various types of

troops. In the territory of Kazakhstan this represented 1 200 000 people, half of whom never returned to their homes.

My great-grandfather, a teacher of physics at school № 16 - Stupak Ivan Rodionovich. My great-grandfather started the war in 1941 and ended in 1945. I will talk about two of his fights -the first and the last, between which there were long days and nights of war. 11 of the graduates went to the front, and returned in 1945, but only 4 returned (but I can show here only second episode in his war life. - IU. Gushul).

My great-grandfather participated in the liberation of Europe. For the liberation of the city Czestochow he was awarded the order of the red Star. On the 28th of April 1945, Lieutenant Ivan Stupak stopped on the outskirts of Berlin, where he established location for repairing tanks. It was surraunded by, sparse woods, and barns. A little further on was the anti-aircraft unit guarding staff vehicles. It was quiet, but my great-grandfather was concerned about something. The remaining tanks and cars with ammunition, he ordered to hide in the barn and in the woods, and he told his men to dig in and circle the wagons. He went to the gunners to ask for help. At his request, four anti-aircraft guns were moved on to the road and put in the horizontal position. By the end of the evening everything was done. In addition, each fighter received three captured bazookas, additional drives for the PCA and two grenades. My greatgrandfather had 50 people under his command. In two hours, the night guard reported that enemy troops were seen on the road in the direction of Berlin. After letting them gain 100 yards, the order was given: "Fire". How many of them there were, no one knew, but it was felt that a there were many soldiers. Nerves were on edge, but they endured. Tanks and anti-aircraft guns were firing all around. They fired so that the shells bursting over the enemy, forming a cloud of debris above them. The battle for two hours. The enemy were blocked. In the morning, everyone saw how many of them remained lying on

the road. Until dinner time there was fear of a follow-up attack. But in the middle of the day from Berlin arrived convoy of several jeeps arrived from Berlin. They came from the General and Lieutenant General, to whom the greatgrandfather together with the captain of the antiaircraft battery reported the situation. From the memoirs of Ivan Stupak: "Who fought the battle?", - he asked me. I replied that the name and number of the Germans we did not know. -What losses? There were three wounded. - Who decided to put the anti-aircraft guns in the horizontal position? - asked the General. - This senior Lieutenant reported to the captain. The General took two orders of the Patriotic war second degree, and handed them to us with the captain, saying: The order on rewarding will be released later". When the war ended my great-grandfather was in Prague, where on 9 may he learned about the victory. For the liberation of Prague he was awarded the order of Patriotic war of 1 degree. When he was asked whether he had been afraid in the war, he replied: "you know how tough war is. The soldiers were freezing in the trenches, in the rain, the snow andall were starving. But the war makes a person make choices, choices on

which depend not only your life but the lives of others. You don't think whether you can kill or injure, you have to think about what is necessary in order to fulfill the duties of a soldier". After the war, my great-grandfather found the strength to return to normal life and doing the things he loved - teaching the younger generation knowledge, because he chose a peaceful profession - the teaching profession. Still his disciples remember and speak about him with only good words and thank him for his great physics lessons. The Hall of Fame Battle school № 16 is a stand, which is dedicated to the military way of my great-grandfather - Stupak Ivan Rodionovich. My dad, Peter Chistyakov graduated from this school, and I, Chistyakov Christina am also a student at this school.

I'm proud of my great-grandfather, because he is a true hero of the great Patriotic war and a vivid example of how to love our Motherland".

So, I have just now presented to colleagues my projects. In conclusion, I express a hope for the success of our current and future wonderful projects and for future close creative co-operation with our esteemed colleagues.
