This article discusses the artistic interpretation of the image of Santiago in Uzbek translations of the novel The Alchemist. This novel was translated by Ozod Sharofiddinov, Ahmad Otaboy and Aziz Said, and each translation has its own characteristics. This issue is discussed in detail below. In particular, the study examines the comparative aspects of the Uzbek translations of this novel. The translators' translation skills, linguistic knowledge and use of language capabilities are also evaluated.

ABSTRACT

This article discusses the artistic interpretation of the image of Santiago in Uzbek translations of the novel The Alchemist. This novel was translated by Ozod Sharofiddinov, Ahmad Otaboy and Aziz Said, and each translation has its own characteristics. This issue is discussed in detail below. In particular, the study examines the comparative aspects of the Uzbek translations of this novel. The translators' translation skills, linguistic knowledge and use of language capabilities are also evaluated.

INTRODUCTION

In Paulo Coelho's novel The Alchemist, Santiago is the main character and the central figure of the novel's journey. His image is very complex and spiritually deep, since the main content of the novel is aimed at experiencing his own inner search and spiritual growth. Santiago's life and journeys have symbolic meanings and can be a bright and inspiring example for many.

Santiago is a young and dreamy boy who sets out for a treasure. His journey is primarily aimed not at the external world, but at the inner world, at realizing his dreams. The main theme of the novel is "The Realization of Identity". During Santiago's journey, he spends all his strength on finding the purpose of his life (that is, his destiny or personal legend).

Santiago's dreams are very specific and tangible dreams: he wants to find gold, but in addition, he understands youth and love for life. The gold, as depicted above, undoubtedly symbolizes the true, spiritual value in life.

Santiago's journey is both an external (physical) and an internal (spiritual) journey. His inner search, his solitude, his connection with nature, and even his connection with people, leads him to discover new meanings for his life. His journey is a unique path, leading to elevation, humanity, and, of course, to his true purpose.

In the novel, through Santiago's experience, "secrets" and "philosophical knowledge" are implied. The knowledge he learns on his journey is knowledge about nature and the inner strength of man. Santiago, trying to connect with the whole world, understands that in fact, any knowledge and information should help a person improve his life.

Alchemy plays a very important role in Santiago's journey or in his attempts to understand the world. He uses the knowledge of figures like the Alchemist in his life to find his spiritual "gold". The image of Santiago is directly related to spiritual growth. His journey is aimed at understanding his identity and determining his purpose through physical hardships and spiritual trials. His journeys often go against the ideas and dreams of worldly things, striving to find "everything" in a truly shared way.

The work was simultaneously translated into Uzbek by O. Sharofiddinov[1], A. Otaboy[2] and A. Said[3].

In the novel, Santiago's personal goal, or his "Legend of Personality", is shown in finding his direction to his dream, the meaning of his life. His "Legend of Personality" is his most important goal in the world, which is to find himself, to find the true "gold" (that is, his inner divine purpose).

METHODS

At the end of the novel The Alchemist, Santiago reaches his goal, the Legend of Personality. At first, he sets out on a long journey to find gold, but by the end of the long journey, we see that his goal and his most important discovery, gold, have changed dramatically.

When Santiago began his journey, he set out to find gold. In his opinion, this gold should symbolize his personal purpose and the meaning of life. Along the way, he had to overcome a number of different challenges and problems, such as the desert, the difficulties of real life, and the need to re-establish his understanding of pride and true happiness.[9]

By the end of his journey, Santiago had made a series of valuable and unique discoveries in order to find the gold. When he did not look, he realized that the real treasure, which would lead him to the exact place where the gold was found, was actually right next to him, but this treasure was not only physical gold, but also connected with his own personal strength and spiritual development.

Having reached his goal, Santiago realizes that he has found true heroism and the true meaning of life, far from the dreams of youth, poverty and a completely different life. He becomes very needy and understands himself and the world anew. He realizes that finding

gold is not only a material goal, but also has important values such as spiritual wealth, art, and spending time well.

Santiago has achieved a goal that has helped him take only the first steps towards achieving his goal. The gold he has obtained, which is an integral part of this goal, is the importance of defining his identity and finding his inner treasure, developing self-confidence. In achieving the "Legend of Personality", he has found not only his imagination, but also his inner spiritual need.[14]

The connection between the alchemist and Rumi is seen primarily in the spiritual and spiritual sense. Both paid great attention to self-understanding, spiritual development and a voluntary path of life, but their approaches and philosophies may differ. Below we will look at each one separately and discuss their interrelationships.

1. The Alchemist (Paulo Coelho) and his philosophy:

The journey of Santiago in the novel The Alchemist and his concept of the "Legend of Personality", as well as the ideas of spiritual search and achieving a specific goal, are based on many spiritual inspirations and esoteric concepts. The Alchemist mainly shows spiritual and moral evolution. Santiago's journey, rather than outwardly, appears as a symbol of inner search and turning away from the path. Alchemy in this novel is not about finding physical gold, but about achieving the goal of one's life and becoming a special inner transformation.

The main idea of the philosophy in The Alchemist is that a person must find his true purpose and, in order to achieve this goal, he must choose the right path for himself. On this path, undoubtedly, through time, trials, and connections with nature, a person finds his identity.

2. Rumi and his philosophy:

Jalaluddin Rumi is one of the most famous and important figures in the philosophy of Sharia and Sufism. His main teachings are focused on a special spiritual path and spiritual freedom. Love, free will, and spiritual purity are the main themes in Rumi's works. He emphasizes the struggle of man against himself and against any social intolerance and internal states through Divine love (true love).

In Rumi's philosophy, the main goal is the realization of man's self and the union of body and soul. His philosophy, through the use of love and spiritual purity, fights against submission to anything permanent or aggressive.[10]

3. The connection between the alchemist and Rumi:

The main ideas of both specialists are aimed at spiritual transformation, free will, and self-realization. They both emphasize connection with nature, philosophical theories, and Sufism/esoteric knowledge. The Alchemist novel and Rumi's Sufi ideas are undoubtedly based on self-realization and encouragement to a specific spiritual path.

• Spiritual journey: In both cases, the spiritual journey of a person to reach their true purpose is of great importance. While in Rumi this is achieved through love and spiritual union, in The Alchemist it is achieved through finding one's own legend and fulfilling one's dreams.

• Nature and connection with oneself: Rumi's ideas of "the unity of all things" and "connection with nature" in The Alchemist, and both of them have very similar concepts of balance between the spiritual and physical worlds. Rumi often emphasizes the higher wisdom of nature and its ignorant powers, while the Alchemist sees nature as a system of purely spiritual wealth and signs.

• Achieving the goal: The main task of both Santiago and Rumi is to achieve a spiritual and moral goal, and true wealth is not material gold, but social and spiritual development.

Paulo Coelho's novel The Alchemist and other works are likely inspired by Rumi's Sufi ideas and spiritual teachings. Coelho's philosophy and the spiritual path he follows are influenced by Rumi. The connection between these two specialists and their philosophies are similar, focusing on volitional and spiritual exploration.[9]

One of the main ideas in Rumi's philosophy is love and the spiritual journey. According to his teachings, a person must understand himself through nature, love, and spiritual paths in order to find his true identity and purpose. Rumi's paths are a spiritual path, a concept that expresses a person's spiritual "journey," that is, finding oneself and turning to truth, and that still inspires people.

RESULTS

The main theme of Paulo Coelho's novel The Alchemist is finding the legend of the personality and understanding one's world through a voluntary journey. In this respect, Santiago's journey is similar to Rumi's spiritual journey, as he understands himself by connecting with nature, following his inner voice, and finding his dream.

One of Rumi's main ideas is love and union. He seeks to see love as the highest spiritual state, and his teachings are aimed at uniting with the inner feelings of a person and nature. Santiago's journey in Paulo Coelho's novel The Alchemist is about approaching oneself and nature with love. In order to realize his "Legend of Personality", it is necessary to understand love and inner feelings and act on them.

In Rumi's philosophy, love, union with the highest and divine love, leads to spiritual goodness. The presentation of Coelho's novel and Rumi's love and spiritual paths are similar, and Coelho was inspired by his idea of the highest love.[11]

Rumi's Sufi ideas emphasize that in order to find one's true purpose, one must find a spiritual path, often understanding nature

and divine signs. Sufis often sought to find goodness and truth through nature, its signs and symbols.

The Alchemist also shows the path to spiritual transformation and the Legend of Personality through symbols and symbolic signs (for example, gold, thought and practice, nature). In Santiago's journey, he is guided through various symbols and signs. In this way, Coelho was probably influenced by Rumi's symbolic spiritual paths.

In Rumi's teachings, the main goal of man is to find his own self and transform it into a Divine goal. In Rumi's teachings, "love" and the knowledge of the Self are often intertwined.[13]

In Coelho's novel The Alchemist, Santiago seeks to achieve true happiness by discovering his Legend of Identity and believing in himself. This work helps him to reach his inner journey and spiritual heaven.

Rumi's Sufi teachings are based on an esoteric philosophy, that is, his knowledge and paths are based solely on spiritual and spiritual divine concepts. In Sufism, knowledge of our inner world and its truth is, in a sense, essential to achieving a person's true purpose in life.

Paulo Coelho uses esoteric ideas in The Alchemist, and alchemy in the novel is also a symbol of spiritual transformation, aimed at finding one's inner truth. This idea is very similar to Rumi's esoteric interpretations.

The novel "The Alchemist" with its spiritual, moral and philosophical content has inspired readers and helped them change their view of the world. The main idea of the novel is to find the Legend of Personality (that is, the true purpose of each person in life) and live a meaningful life by realizing their dreams. These ideas have also inspired Uzbek readers to begin their own inner journeys.[17]

Many translators and literary editors have tried to translate this work into Uzbek in a logical and accurate way, as well as to preserve Coelho's spiritual and inspiring ideas in the Uzbek language.

The translation of this book is popular among Uzbek readers and often serves as a source for questions about understanding personality and spiritual development.

Some symbols and symbols in Coelho's novel The Alchemist come from other cultures and languages. Sharofiddinov, taking into account the cultural concepts of the Uzbek reader, tried to translate some difficult concepts into Uzbek in a way that was acceptable and meaningful. For example, special attention was paid to correctly explain the meaning of words such as "fate", "ability", "alchemy", and to adapt them to their meanings and explanations in the Uzbek language.[10]

Sharofiddinov. These symbols were easily processed in the Uzbek language, and at the same time, attention was paid to making them more understandable and spiritual for the Uzbek reader.

Symbolism and symbols in the novel (for example, gold, the legend of personality, understanding nature and its signs) play an important role in the translation. Aziz Said tried to correctly convey the expressed meanings of the symbols into the Uzbek language. For example, the symbol "gold" was introduced as a sign of spiritual wealth and inspiration along with physical wealth. In Said's translation, several semantic features of this symbol are preserved.

In Paulo Coelho's novel, the ideas of spiritual transformation and love are of particular importance. In Said's translation, these concepts are tried to preserve their Uzbek content, since the concepts of spiritual transformation and self-awareness lie at the heart of the novel. He perfectly describes the spiritual, psychological and philosophical aspects of the translation in order to make Santiago's personality and spiritual development understandable to the Uzbek reader.

Ahmad Ataboy's work "The Alchemist" is a work of translation of the work of the famous Brazilian writer Paulo Coelho into the Uzbek language. This translation contributed to the popularity of the work among Uzbek readers, which was interesting and spiritual food for many readers.[2]

Paulo Coelho's novel "The Alchemist" is a philosophical story about a person's journey to achieve their goals and dreams, the trials they face, and self-understanding. In his translation, Ahmad Ataboy accurately preserved the spiritual and moral content of the work, presenting it in a language that is understandable and accessible to Uzbek readers.

DISCUSSION

Ozod Sharofiddinov is one of the selected translators who translated Paulo Coelho's novel "The Alchemist" into Uzbek. His translation is often considered very successful not only in terms of accuracy, but also in terms of cultural and spiritual significance. Sharofiddinov focused on translating the novel's unique concepts and esoteric content into Uzbek in a clear and vivid way.[1]

The philosophical, esoteric, and spiritual content of the novel "The Alchemist" becomes very complex when translated into Uzbek. Ozod Sharofiddinov tried to express these complex concepts in clear and simple language. In his translation, Paulo Coelho's concepts such as spiritual journey, Legend of Personality, and finding gold are understandable for the Uzbek-speaking reader, and most importantly, the ideas in the translation have retained their inspiring content.

Ozod Sharofiddinov not only translated the simple, beautiful and inspiring language of Coelho's original work into Uzbek, but also paid attention to expressing it with a wise and correct choice of words. Coelho always chose simple and easy-to-use, but deep in meaning words, and Sharofiddinov's translation tried to preserve this style.

In the works of Paulo Coelho, including The Alchemist, the main teachings and ideas are specifically related to spiritual development, voluntary journey and finding one's own identity. Ozod Sharofiddinov paid attention to adapting these spiritual aspects to the reader's thinking and experience, as well as to making the translation suitable for reading in the local context.

In his translation, O. Sharofiddinov also paid attention to the literary language, the rich vocabulary, natural and customary forms of the Uzbek language. He adapted the phrases and words in the Uzbek language to the general spiritual and symbolic content of the novel.[17]

In Aziz Said's translation of Paulo Coelho's novel The Alchemist, he specifically translated the esoteric, philosophical, and spiritual content of the novel in a way that is understandable and inspiring for the Uzbek reader. Aziz Said's translation is aimed at effectively translating Paulo Coelho's ideas about social, spiritual, and personal development into the Uzbek language. Several important aspects are highlighted in this translation:

The concepts, symbols, and esoteric ideas in The Alchemist have deep meaning, and in translating them, the translator, in particular, tried to express ideas such as spiritual development, spiritual journey, and the Legend of Personality in a clear and understandable way. In Aziz Said's translation, the translator actively preserved the esoteric content of the novel and paid attention to every aspect of the concepts when choosing words in the Uzbek language.

Aziz Said paid special attention to adapting The Alchemist to cultural contexts familiar to Uzbek readers. Some terms and philosophical phrases in the novel were adapted to Uzbek culture. This step helped to convey the spiritual concepts in the novel in a way that was familiar and understandable to the local reader. [3]

Aziz Said's translation of Paulo Coelho's novel has also preserved the inspiring and philosophical content of the Uzbek language very well. In the selection of each word and phrase in Said's translation, an attempt was made to inspire the reader as much as possible. He had to translate Coelho's famous teachings about love and personality into the lives of several representatives.

A. Said paid attention to preserving the simple and logical descriptions of the novel, as well as to giving a certain meaning to

each of Coelho's words. In order to perfectly translate the

beautiful and simple language of the novel into Uzbek, he was careful in choosing words and tried to preserve the spiritual impact of the novel.

One of the main themes in the novel The Alchemist is the interrelation of truth and dreams. Paulo Coelho emphasizes that a person achieves truth through the realization of his dreams. Aziz Said paid attention to perfectly reflecting this idea in the translation, to well feel the harmony of dreams and truth in the Uzbek language.

This translation by Ahmad Ataboy[2] is one of the most popular and beloved works among Uzbek readers. The novel "The Alchemist" is included in the top 20 most read books on the Ziyouz portal.

CONCLUSION

There are a number of similarities between Paulo Coelho's novel The Alchemist and Rumi's Sufi ideas, based on inspiration and spiritual transformation. Coelho was inspired by Rumi's interpretations, as both works contain teachings about the inner journey of man, spiritual development and the achievement of goodness. Therefore, Paulo Coelho used Rumi's theories in the direction he worked on.

The Alchemist and Rumi are interconnected, as both treat spiritual transformation, free will and self-realization as central ideas. Although they come from different philosophical frameworks, both direct man towards inner exploration, spiritual development and a deep connection with nature.

Santiago completed his periodic journey and purpose and as a result found gold, but he understood the true treasure - the meaning of "being great" and "finding oneself'. At the end of the novel, he realized that the true treasure for every person lies in his inner world and spiritual development through will.

Therefore, Santiago reached his goal, but he found the true meaning of gold in understanding himself, life, and the whole of existence.[10]

Santiago is a figure familiar to every person. His image served as a symbol of spiritual transformation and development, self-understanding and the desire to live life accordingly. His journey and ideas are a source of inspiration for everyone, encouraging a person to find his true purpose. In the novel The Alchemist, Santiago, as a person who sacrificed his life for the sake of finding himself, has a deep meaning for everyone's inner journey.

Ozod Sharofiddinov's translation of Paulo Coelho's novel The Alchemist helped both young and older readers gain deep understanding and inspiration in literary and spiritual terms. His focus is on accurately translating spiritual transformation and symbolic content into Uzbek. The translation uses beautiful, inspiring, and meaningful words, and is adapted to the speaking and receptive abilities of the Uzbek language.
